It is important for our success that we follow the standards and quality regulations. In order to keep the high standards, all parts of our operations must be compliant to our standards. Now ITO in Chandigarh is in the scope for ITO’s ISO-certification!

IT Operations have several resources and professional teams based in IONNOR in Chandigarh (India). For several of our operations The ITO Chandigarh teams are an integrated part of the value chain in the deliveries to the customers.
In order to ensure that the ITO Chandigarh is of the same – or better – quality as the operations based in Norway we must make sure our operations are compliant to the standards we follow in Norwegian based operations. To qualify our Chandigarh-operations, EDB ErgoGroup engaged NEMKO, our Norwegian compliance auditors to make a full scale audit of our Chandigarh based operations. In Chandigarh the main players in completing the external audit have been Santosh Kotnis, responsible for the GITO India and Rahul Prashar, Quality Manager.

External audit of our operations
The most important conclusions from NEMKO are that ITO Chandigarh has:
• a well structured quality system – a sub-set of the ITO quality system

• good knowledge in the audited teams about the quality system, processes and accomplishment of tasks

• very good handling of HR responsibilities and tasks.

We have worked together with the Chandigarh resources, and the management in ITO Chandigarh is strongly involved in the quality roadmap. We are also very pleased that, the production units are loyal to any processes or routines, says Rune Røkkes (inthe heading picture withMorten Celius from NEMKO and Juha Rossi from Evry) . He continues by telling that implementing new routines is extremely easy in ITO Chandigarh.

On the other hand, it seems clear that ITO still has areas of improvement within implementing of the mandatory processes according to ISO standard. Also the cooperational routines and procedures between Oslo and Chandigarh regarding management responsibility should be clarified and implemented.

ISO certifications
All in all NEMKO was very pleased, and our Chandigarh operations are now prepared for the recertification of EDB ErgoGroup next year. ITO Chandigarh operates under the ISO 9001/ISO 27001 certificates that are issued to EDB ErgoGroup in Norway, and all the contracts with the customers are based on the Norwegian certificate.
